16 GB MicroSD HC card is working in Nokia-phones
Since we moved our blog to www.symbianworld.org some of the content isn”t available any longer on this site. However, the content is available still here. So please head over and save the new URL to your bookmark and subscribe to our new RSS-Feed
probably this is a FAKE one , as nokia never shows the free space in GB as it always shows in KB!

Confirmation that 8GB+ will work in N Series and others
[…] I’m sure most of you already know that the theoretical limit for microSDHC is 32GB( Imagine that, 48 GIGABYTES on the N96) but there aren’t any 32GB in free circulation at the moment so confirmation is still needed. […]

16GB MicroSD confirmed compatible with Nokia handsets - Nokia Users Forum said this on February 26, 2008 at 5:06 pm |
It’s a developement of Toshiba and Sandisk. The 16GB MicroSD will be at the market 2/4 of 2008, followed by the 32GB 3/4 2008. This is definetely confirmed.

Fake.
The OS never displays a memory card at its full capacity (16GB)
It would always display something like 15875 MB.
Sandman said this on March 26, 2008 at 8:03 pm |
If you think it’s fake you’re an idiot and you’ve clearly not read the original post. If you’d actually bothered to go through the tremendious effort of clicking the link and READING, you’d realise it wasn’t fake. There are images of it running on other phones where the capacity is in MB. The reason it’s not showing up as MB in Symbian is because it’s over 10gb and therefore would be over 5 numbers in MB (at which point the OS moves up to the next highest unit of mesurement: GB). This is what happens when it goes up from KB to MB and this is what’s happened here.

N96 has 16 GB but it is impossible to add an external memory card. I have an N95 8G and it hasn’t any memory slot.

Hey,
I don’t know if it will slow down with much things on the memory card – I will test it when I buy one.
Christian Titze said this on August 26, 2008 at 4:14 pm |
I do not believe this
fornetti said this on August 31, 2008 at 1:42 am |
Then just test it by yourself when the memorycards are available, you’ll see that it works.

We can confirm that 16GB micro SDHC will work on the Nokia N95, Nokia 6220 Classic, Nokia 6210 Nav, and Nokia N96 (of course)
We have had an early sample on the production release from Sandisk and will be posting a little article with pictures shortly from our N95 testing as we know a lot of N95 owners are very interested.
We are also now collecting pre-orders, with stock due before the end of September we are now told (ps. that will be the first UK stock).

will the 16GB work in NOkia 5320 XpressMusic? it only has 8GB limit so I might want to ask if it’s compatible. I only have 4Gb installed

I truly believe that we have reached the point where technology has become one with our world, and I am 99% certain that we have passed the point of no return in our relationship with technology.
I don’t mean this in a bad way, of course! Ethical concerns aside… I just hope that as memory gets less expensive, the possibility of transferring our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It’s one of the things I really wish I could see in my lifetime.
